What happened to the pictures?

I updated our blog a month ago saying I was putting new pictures up. I was half right... I put them in the folder to load but I never got them finished. I guess our Halloween night was busier than I thought it would be. We had a record amount of kids come trick-or-treating, over 100, but that is no excuse. I apologize for the delay... pictures are definitely in the photo album now. I use this blog and the pictures I post as a sort of memory scrapbook and also as another way to backup our best pictures so I need to stay current. Enjoy!!

Happy Halloween!!!

It's Halloween, a perfect night to work on a new post and adding some pictures. There have been a very excited princess and dinosaur running around all day today. :) I have added some very fall pictures to our photo album including pumpkin patches, soccer games and a trip to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!! Enjoy!!

Changing seasons

Since autumn begins this coming Friday I better post the rest of our summer pictures before they are old news. In the "summer wrap up" album you can find pictures from a trip to Fort Wayne while Nate went to Bristol Motor Speedway with his dad and Grandpa, some snapshots of Will and Sara's first days of school and pictures from our Labor Day weekend camping trip to Brown County State Park. We had a great time and enjoyed a little bit of everything from 100 degrees, storms and then temperatures in the 50's, s'mores and other delicious camping food. The kids especially loved playing outside with their cousins. Making memories of a lifetime... my favorite thing to do.

Will is 5!!!

Will turned 5 years old on August 12. He celebrated with a few of his friends on the Sunday before his birthday with a party at Otte Golf. On his birthday we had a picnic lunch with Nana and Papa and then went to Pizza King Station with them at night. On the Sunday after Will's birthday we had a big (and somewhat rainy) party with all of our family. The birthday that went on forever!!!

At 5 years old Will weights 40 lbs and is 43 inches tall. He would tell you his favorite things are CARS, dinosaurs and fish. The night before he turned 5 years old he learned to swing all by himself on our swingset. He said, "Wow, being 5 is so fun! I can't wait to be 5 for the whole next year!!" We have been so blessed to have such a thoughtful, sweet and funny brother and son with us these past 5 years. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WILL!!!!!

Spring picture catch up

It has been awhile since I have posted so I have some catching up to do. The pictures I have added take us back to Easter up through Mother's Day, t-ball, soccer, a visit from cousins Julie and Katie (and their parents), and a trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

Also, here is a video of a couple dancing machines waiting out a rain delay at the track

Spring is here!

Spring is here! That means warmer weather, spring break and baseball!!

For Will's spring break (which really only meant he was home 5 more hours than normal one week) we did a few extra fun things with our friends Erin and Mya. One day we went to Columbus for the day and went to Kids Commons and then to Zaharakos for lunch. Another day we went to Imagination Station in Franklin to do crafts and then had lunch at Pizza King Station. That week Will also went to his first concert with his friend Jack. We saw the Imagination Movers and it was a lot of fun!

Nate and his dad are coaching Will's t-ball team and I'm the team mom. We are the Chicago White Sox. We have only had 2 games so far but it has been a lot of fun. Will really seems to be enjoying it. Opening Day was really cold and windy but the fun games and bounce houses made up for it.

Since we last posted we have enjoyed a visit from Great Grandma and Grandpa Abba and a couple of visits from Grandma and Grandpa Keefer. Will and Sara also had a sleepover night at Nana and Papa's house.

Check out our photo album for pictures of our latest adventures!!

News around here

Since I posted last we have had a few exciting things going on:

- Will had a donuts with dad day at preschool
- Sara jumped out of her crib creating a heart stopping thud and an urgency to get her into a "big girl" bed
- Grandma and Grandpa Keefer came and visited us for a 4 days
- Sara is now in a big bed and is done with her paci all in one shot. A little risky but it worked out
- Will and I went on a preschool field trip to the Shrine Circus and spent the afternoon together at the Children's Museum

Check out the pictures in our photo album!

Sara the 2 year old

Sara turned two on February 9! Can you believe it? We had a birthday party for her the weekend before but she had a pretty fun day on her birthday too. She went to Gymboree and her friends (or at least the moms) sang happy birthday to her and we went to Pizza King Station with Nana and Papa for supper. Sounds like a pretty good 2nd birthday to me!

Sara's two year well-visit went great! She didn't have to get any shots. :) Sara weighed in at 27 lbs 4 oz (59%), was 35 inches long (77%) and has a head size of 19 1/2 (92%). She seems to be leveling off a little. She gained less than 2 lbs and grew 5/8 of an inch in 6 months. Her head size stayed the same... big. :)

Some things Sara is into at two years old:
Bubble baths!
Brushing her teeth
Watching Caillou on mommy and daddy's bed
Yo Gabba Gabba (Foofa is her favorite)
Gymboree (especially the bumpy road) -- see picture with this post
Dressing up and being pretty
Playing with her dolls
Princesses
Following Will around and doing what he does
Talking in complete sentences and enunciating many words surprisingly well
Dramatically crying for daddy when things don't go her way or she is told no... practicing for her teenage years I think.

Top Ten Weekend

This past weekend has been one of the busiest, yet most fun weekends that we can remember! We went into the weekend having had two snow/ice/daddy days during the week!! So fun! Friday Luke was born and we were able to visit him in the hospital. Saturday Will had a basketball game in the morning, we celebrated Sara's 2nd birthday with our family in the afternoon and in the evening we went to the Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County State Park with our Keefer family to enjoy the indoor waterpark for a little "stay-cation"!! Pictures of our adventures are in the photo album.

Welcome, baby Luke!!

We are the proud uncle, aunt and cousins of Luke William McComas!! Kyle and Amy welcomed their precious little guy on Friday, Feb 4. Will and Sara are so excited to have another cousin. I think they are a little surprised that he isn't as active as their other cousins are but it won't be too long until he can play with them. Congratulations to Uncle Kyle and Aunt Amy!

January

Although we have been keeping busy this past month, I don't have as many pictures as usual to show for it. A few highlights from January include a trip to the Children's Museum with Nana and Papa, Will's first bowling experience with Nana, Papa and Nate, Grandpa Keefer's 60th birthday party and Will's first basketball game.

Will is one of the smaller, less-skilled players on his team. At his first game when he got a chance to bring the ball up the court he took a shot at the basket and missed. The other teams coach gave him the ball to try again and he missed again. Then that coach picked Will up so he could dunk it in. He made that basket and everyone clapped for him. Who knew basketball games could be so emotional!??! I'm so proud of our little hoops star! He never gave up the whole game. Yea, Will!!!

  • We went camping Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends with our Keefer family and spent the 4th of July weekend in Hobart with our Abba/McComas family

We have a lot to look forward to in 2011 too! Sara is turning 2 in February, Will is turning 5 in August (how can that be possible?) We will be meeting our new nephew in February and we're planning a trip to the beach this summer. I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg on what 2011 has in store for us. Happy New Year!!

Christmas fun

December was full of exciting Christmas activities for us! Nate's family came for their annual Christmas shopping weekend, the kids played in the snow, Will had his Christmas program at preschool, Sara got her 1st haircut, we made Christmas cookies and a gingerbread house, we had multiple Christmas and birthday celebrations, visited with family and friends, and spent the night at Bob and Janelle's house! It has been busy but we have been having a great time. Check out our photo album for pictures from our adventures!
