Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! Will is really enjoying his first holiday season. He was a little pumpkin for Halloween, saw a lot of his family for Thanksgiving, and is excited for Santa to come. Will is 4 months old now and his latest trick is rolling over to his tummy. New pictures have been added.

October Update

Will is still doing very well and growing every day. Chrissy is back at work for a few more weeks part time and Nate has been busy at work as well. We went to the pumpkin patch and Will got his first pumpkin! He can hold his head up on his own for long stretches at a time now. A new album of pictures have been posted from the last month or so.

Night Owl

Will turns 3 weeks old today and what a ride it’s been already. Lately he hasn’t hardly been sleeping at all at night, and seems to want to eat every hour. So that’s made it kind of rough on us as far as getting some “good” sleep. Otherwise, he’s doing great and gaining weight like he should be. He’s made a few trips in the car. His favorite store so far is Baby’s R Us. Today is his first Purdue football game. It’s hard to explain to him that it isn’t on TV, we’ll have to listen on the radio, etc… I added some more pictures to the gallery. Thanks for all the cards everyone!

Will Comes Home!

Today Will was cleared to come home with us!!!! After about 4.5 days, he gained enough weight to finally leave the hospital. It’s been a wonderful experience so far and keeps getting better. He’s already checked out his bouncer and pack and play. For the most part he’s slept. Not sure why he wasn’t interested in a tour of his room though … Everything is going well and I put a few pictures up.

Can I Go Home?

Well we thought we were all going home today, but the doctors want Will to stay at the hospital another day. He is doing great, but they want him to put on a little more weight and stay under the photo therapy lamp for another day. So tomorrow we should have the welcome home celebration! We have moved up to a hotel room at the hospital and go see Will and feed him every 2 hours. I will hopefully put some more pictures up tomorrow night.

Update

Everything is still going well at the hospital. We will be able to come home tomorrow morning and can’t wait. Will has a little jaundice, so he is spending the day under photo therapy, and we only get to see him every few hours. He’s eating well and definitely prefers to be held instead of being left alone in the basket. Thanks for all the comments! I put a few more pictures on.

It's a Boy!

William Michael McComas was born yesterday, August 12th, at 6:57pm. He weighed 6 lbs and was 18.5 inches. Both Mom and Will are doing great! Will wasn’t due until September 6th, but a couple of complications arose and we surprisingly had him last night by c-section. At almost 37 weeks, he is a great size and was able to spend the night with us in the room. Chrissy is doing great and will be in the hospital until tuesday or wednesday. I’ve posted a few of the pictures we’ve taken so far. We’ll post more when we get some time later this week. It’s been great seeing everyone who’s visited so far and we’re so happy and blessed to have Will join our family.

4th of July

Hey everyone! Not much new to report. It was great seeing most of you over the holiday! We had a great time as usual. I am now 28 years old. Thank you to everyone for the gifts. Also to the Keefers for the birthday cookie. Thanks to Aunt Vicki for hosting the twins 50th celebration. And thanks to Aunt Kathy on the awesome baby blanket. We LOVE it! And too bad you couldn’t make it. Hopefully we’ll see you on Thanksgiving. According to our week-by-week book, our baby should be about 3.5 pounds now. Not much longer to go. And now it is raining just as it is getting dark on the 4th of July. Good luck with those fireworks!

Baby Game

All is well this week for Chrissy and the baby. We invite all of you to go to http://www.expectnet.com and enter our baby guessing contest. Enter the name “BabyMcComas” in the box on the upper-left part of the page. That will take you to the game to guess the baby’s gender, weight, length, and birth date/time. Less than 3 months until the baby is here!

Baby Room

This weekend Nate's parents came over to help paint the baby's room! We decided to go with a yellow paint and it turned out great. The room is basically ready for the little one to get here.

Then Chrissy’s parents stopped by for the night on their way to Hilton Head and we went to Uno Pizza and Mrs. Curl’s. Today I assembled the baby crib and moved a few things into the room. It’s starting to come together well. Pictures are posted under the Baby Preparations album of the photo gallery.

This week Chrissy moves into the third trimester! About 12 more weeks to go to the due date. The baby is approaching 2.5 pounds and is about 15 inches long now. We’re going to baby preparation classes at the hospital this month. The baby is moving a lot now and sometimes we can feel him backed up against Chrissy’s stomach.

Babymoon

We just got back after a fun week at Nate’s family reunion in Tennessee and our “babymoon” in Charleston, SC. It was fun seeing everyone in Pigeon Forge for the reunion and meeting 2-day old Ethan. Then on to Charleston we went for a few days. Our resort at Wild Dunes on Isle of Palms was really neat and we had a great view from our room at the Boardwalk Inn. Nate enjoyed a round of golf on the picturesque Links course and Chrissy enjoyed a facial and massage. We then went on to Boone Hall Plantation and Patriots Point for some sightseeing.

We are just starting week 27 of the pregnancy and Chrissy is doing great. The baby is really starting to kick harder and more often now. Nate has felt it a few more times as well. It weighs about 2 pounds. In the coming weeks we’ll be painting the baby’s room and getting the furniture ready to go.

We're Having "A" Baby

Yesterday we were able to see our new baby as it was ultrasound day! Just as we thought, we are not having twins. But male/female we will not know until the delivery. The ultrasound was an amazing experience. Plus we have the video to watch whenever we want. What we couldn’t believe is how much the baby is moving. It was almost nonstop. It even pushed itself into a sitting position (pictured) at one point. The baby also yawned and one time looked like it was waving to us. We could also see its heartbeat. Just really neat stuff. Thanks to Kathy next door for letting us use her scanner.

Chrissy is 20 weeks along in her pregnancy now. That is halfway! The little one is 10 inches long and weighs 11.4 ounces right now. We had a great Easter weekend and a couple pictures of that were added to our 2006 Album. Not too much other news to report right now. Soon we’ll begin to get the baby room painted and ready for the baby.

Baby Furniture

This weekend we were able to get a lot of furniture that will go in our baby’s room. After much shopping around, we took off to Muncie on Friday to get the crib, changing table, and dresser. What we didn’t plan on was strapping the crib to the top of the car and taking back roads home. It was quite an experience! After getting home from that, we found out the Target in Plainfield had the highchair we were looking (and looking, and looking) for so we ventured out and snagged their only one.

About an hour after returning home a decent sized storm rolled through here. All we saw was a lot of lightning and some hail. What we found out later was that a F2 tornado landed about a half mile north of our house and caused some damage, including overturning cars on I-65. We’re thankful to have missed that.

Chrissy seems to be doing great now. She is on week 18 of the pregnancy, so we’re nearing the halfway point already!
